Treadmill Repair:

What needs to be done when a treadmill decides to give up the ghost?

Well first understand what could be the cause of the problem… Here are a few tips to help chandler sports provide an answer to your problem.

First signs you might need a treadmill repair…

  • Check to see if the LED on/off switch in the front of the treadmill is lit – generally the switch shines a red colour. With this you know that power is getting to your treadmill. This also suggests that the power cord fuse is fine/not blown.
  • Next up we want to check to is if there is power coming to the console – does it light up? If so, great! Power is coming through the console cable from the MCB and into the UCB. If not any of the three stated will most likely be the cause of the fault.
  •  So now you want to press the go button but nothing happens. This could be a membrane fault which is located under the overlay. You can try to remove and re-place the membrane as a start. Then you will need to check the continuity of the console cable as 1 or many wires could be faulty. You will need a multi-meter.
  • The most common fault is the term “slipping” which is noticeable when running or walking on the running belt. Adjustments can be made with the correct size allen keys inserted into the rear of the treadmill. Be sure to understand the operations of tightening the running belt as further problems can occur.

Further signs you might need a treadmill repair…

  • Speed fluctuates while using the treadmill which could lead to a damaged motor or a blown MCB – lubrication is important and the inspection of the running deck and belt is required. Due to usage the running deck will become worn and therefore the running belt will to also. Its best to maintain a tight running belt and use appropriate treadmill oil to maintain the lifespan of your treadmill and hopefully reduce the need for a treadmill repair or call out fee. See here to the treadmill lubrication pack which comes with instructions and 100ml or quality treadmill lube.
  • If in doubt give us a call and we will do our best to help you find a solution to your problems.
