Scottish Veterans Residences Case Study
Scottish Veterans Residences:
Scottish Veterans Residences is a Charity established in reaction to the sight of veterans sleeping rough on the streets of Edinburgh. It provides high quality, supported accommodation for veterans who are homeless or in need. The charity houses ex-service men and women in residences in Edinburgh, Dundee and Glasgow.
Importance of Health Care and Well-being:
Being active is great for your physical health, and evidence shows that it can also improve your mental well-being. For this reason, it was important for the Scottish Veterans Residences to provide a great facility for exercising to its residents, in order to help them stay healthy, physically and mentally.
The Goal – To provide a well-rounded gym:
The Scottish Veterans Residences had a few concerns regarding the equipment they had in their gym. A few members had stated they felt their strength training equipment was not up-to-par. They wanted a bigger range of weights and machines, in order for it to be adaptable for each of the Veterans wants and needs.
The Result – A varied, high quality range of equipment:
With Chandler’s Sports help and expert advice, the Scottish Veterans Residences acquired new strength equipment to replace and add on to the one they already had. Amongst the new equipment provided was:
- A squat rack
- A dumbbell set and rack
- An adjustable bench
- A 7ft Olympic bar
Now, the Scottish Veterans Residences has a varied range of equipment. This can be used by their members in order to help them stay healthy and active.
