BH Fitness SK8000 Commercial Upright Bike
Commercial Upright Bike
This week I’ve been using the BH Fitness SK8000 Smart Focus TV Commercial Upright Bike (wow that’s a mouth full!) I’ve been trying to kick IT up a notch, trying to workout a bit harder, get more of a sweat on. This bike is really well suited to that purpose. Of course having the TV attached makes this so much easier. I got really stuck into an episode of Grey’s Anatomy and passed 45 minutes easy!! I like that, exercise should be easy. If I could attach a TV to all the fitness equipment I’d be an athlete in no time! Yes I get the irony in that.

My Verdict on the BH Fitness SK8000 Smart Focus TV Commercial Upright Bike:
The SK8000 TV Commercial Upright Bike is a great bit of Fitness Equipment. All the functions are easy to use, taking you from an easy work out to a hard work out smoothly. It’s not as comfortable to use and the Recumbent, but that’s a personal preference. I like to recline, and that is not something you can do on this bike. For a great work out, this is the machine for you. You can switch from standing to sitting with ease, for those who are inclined to do so that is. For more information on this bike follow this Link.
Here are some of the pro points for using an Upright Bike:
- An upright bike gives you a more consistent workout. Working both upper and lower body.
- Upright bikes also ensure you’re working the same muscles that are used with outdoor riding, which is more of a whole body exercise. Whereas a recumbent mostly requires the use of your glutes, quads, hamstrings and calve muscles. (and right arm, that’s my hand Glass hand)
- The upright bike works the abdominal muscles, since you are keeping the body upright and supporting your workout. Since you are in a reclined position on a recumbent bike there is little to no use of the abdominal muscles. (I don’t think I have any, so no problem there then)
- There is also more of an upper body arm workout since you are engaging the biceps, triceps, and shoulders in the upright position. (I have a very strong right arm!)
- Upright bikes have a smaller footprint, therefore take up less space in your home or gym.
I do like this bike, just not quite as much as the recumbent, or the rower! I liked the rower. The Commercial Upright Bike is a great bit of kit and if you prefer an upright to a recumbent then this is the bike for you.
This time I think 9/10! (It loses a point
on this because it leaves me no free hand for my glass of wine!)
